About
' The art of noticing ... '
Kat Giannini is a wildlife artist and enthusiast based in West Sussex. She has created bee paintings for many years along with a variety of other animals and commissions but has recently turned her attention to birds. This has allowed her to fine tune her painting skills and explore the wonder there is amongst our feathered friends, from here in British gardens to further across the globe.

Formally a champion Ballroom dancer, a mixture of movement and attention to detail have always been a huge part of her life. But the use of space in and around a painting is probably what makes Kat’s work recognisably hers.

It’s her hope that her artwork resonates with viewers but encourages them to look even closer at the wildlife that passes us every day. She believes it is truly magnificent, you just have to take the time to notice it.

Kat definitely enjoys a challenge when creating her paintings and is no stranger, through years of intense ballroom dance training, to the hard work and open minded learning it often requires. She hopes to continue to challenge herself with each and every painting. However intense it can sometimes be, painting, drawing and creating is the perfect way to be mindful and escape how busy life can often feel. It's something she has enjoyed for as long as she can remember.

Paying attention to the exquisite detail wildlife has to offer means so much more than just a painting to Kat. It's part of our life, all day every day and in many places it's under threat. But also, she hopes that her love for nature passes onto her children and perhaps viewers too. 'Loving the unlovable's' seems rare and being gentle and kind, she believes, is simply one of the strongest things anyone can do.

Kat showcases much of her most recent work at exhibitions in Sussex and Surrey throughout the year. She is also available for commissions and is very happy to answer any questions viewers and art collectors have.
